I remember in college when they announced that Joan Jett was coming in concert.  I was so excited!  I couldn't believe she was coming to my little Minnesota college town.

It was just a few years earlier in 1982 that Joan Jett and The Blackhearts started a run at Number 1 that went an incredible 7 weeks!

When Joan Jett was still with The Runaways (the group she was with before venturing out as a solo artist) she had proposed recording a cover of a song called "I Love Rock n Roll" by a band called the Arrows.  The other members of the Runaways didn't like the idea though and made the bad decision NOT to record it.

So when Joan Jett left the runaways, she put it on her first album with the Blackhearts called Bad Reputation.  The rest, as they say, is history!  It was a career changing song that endures the test of time.
