Dogs Saved From Dog Meat Festival Now Available For Adoption!

January 13, 2017

It's a disgrace.  At the Lychee and Dog Meat Festival in Yulin, China, dogs are sometimes tortured before being killed, cooked and eaten.  Around 10,000 dogs and cats are eaten at the yearly festival.

Of the 26 dogs recently rescued from this horror, 17 are now available for adoption through our San Diego Humane Society.

The Humane Society says the dogs are in good health, fairly socialized and may bear a few scars from their abuse and from being bound in captivity.

Adoption hours are 10am to 6pm daily.  You'll find location and more adoption information here on the Society's web site.
