A flight they call "Wings of Rescue" has brought pets to what they hope will be their "forever homes."

Yesterday, 18 dogs landed at Montgomery Field, greeted by volunteers and vets from the Rancho Coastal Humane Society (see the video below)  These were just a small portion of the animals delivered to rescue groups around the U.S.

The "Wings of Rescue" organization recovered hundreds of dogs and nearly 100 cats from overcrowded shelters in Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas.

The Rancho Coastal Humane Society is in need of donations to help cover costs for taking in the dogs. You can visit the shelter at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas, or get more information when you visit www.sdpets.org
