This Monday afternoon we're expecting what appears to be our largest pet food donation EVER.....44,000 pounds of cat and dog food from Rescue Bank operated by Greatergood.org.

The truck is expected to arrive at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society between 2:00 and 4:00.

The food is being donated through Rescue Bank ® operated by Greater Good.org, a non-profit organization that supports animal rescue and rehabilitation groups by providing services and supplies. The pet food will be distributed to animal rescue groups throughout southern California.

RCHS President Jim Silveira says, “Every time we work with Rescue Bank and Greatergood.org we see the direct impact of their generosity. We’re expecting a little more than 44,000 pounds of Smuckers, Natural Balance, and Nature’s Recipe Dry and Wet cat and dog food. Nearly all of this will be distributed to Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s rescue partners.’”

This is one of the largest pet food donations in the 57 year history of Rancho Coastal Humane Society. This donation will provide more than 100,000 meals for dogs and cats in San Diego and surrounding counties.

“There are about 200 rescue groups in San Diego County,” says Silveira. “All of the animals under their care deserve proper nutrition. Greater Good.org and Rescue Bank trust Rancho Coastal Humane Society to carry out their intentions and help feed animals waiting to be adopted. Interested rescue groups should contact RCHS to make an appointment for pick up.”
